ULTRAMARINOS Ultramarinos is located at the port-end of Barcelona´s most emblematic walking street, the iconic Ramblas. A stone´s throw from its splendid gothic cathedral and legendary Boqueria market it was designed by interiors whizz Lázaro Rosa- Violán. He re-imagined the cavernous space as a place to have fun adding a festive dining room bathed in natural light thanks to a patchwork of skylights, a lively tapas bar and open kitchen, and a sophisticated cocktail bar, all under one roof. On a balmy summer night you can also bag a table on the terrace and idly watch half of Barcelona stroll by.

Join us for bespoke cocktails slung by some of the best mixologists in town, freshly made tapas and Catalan classics crafted from heritage meats, local seafood and market fresh vegetables, as well as our famous paella – a must-eat on a Sunday lunchtime - and an extensive Spanish wine list showcasing some of the regions’ best natural, biodynamic and organic makers.

Ultramarinos is the culmination of many years in the restaurant business for José Lombardero and Kate Preston. During that time they have trawled Spain in search of the best producers, farmers and wine-makers, eating in the most authentic tapas bars and yes, quaffing the odd cocktail, while learning everything they can about the country’s rich culinary heritage in order to bring it to you. After establishing some of the city’s best-loved restaurants: Taller de Tapas, Casa Delfin and Ajoblanco, Ultramarinos is their latest muse: the sexiest space on Barcelona´s most famous street which brings together all the elements of the Spanish lifestyle that they know and love.


Ultramarinos is a unique, one-stop destination for events that scale from corporate breakfasts to intimate private parties. Our personalized concierge service will ensure your event has wow factor in perfect format. Here you can choose from an elegant private mezzanine, which seats up to 80 people; a semi-private imperial table for up to 18 people; a cabaret lounge where you can stage your own music and shows for seated guests, a 360º bar and a show-cooking arena that seats 30. State of the art audio-visual equipment for demonstrations is included in the fee, and we’re happy to help you arrange exactly the right live music and DJs for your celebrations.

Covering 800m2 of space means there’s a nook for every mood. An open kitchen faces a hand-crafted wood-topped bar where guests can watch chefs at work. The dining room, a nod to Spain’s party-loving nature, serves unpretentious, but fresh, tasty and authentic food crafted from world-class produce. Sensational lamb comes from Castilla y Leon, grass-fed beef from Northern Spain, and a daily changing specials menu of the freshest seafood is sourced from Catalonia´s best fish markets. You can also eat your way around Spain’s tastiest regional dishes such as char grilled Iberian pork “secret” with Canary Island mojo sauce or emblematic Barcelona specials like salt cod and parsley fritters with honey aioli ; ‘pica pica’ (snack) on traditional tapas, go light with our famous salads, or gather friends and family for long lazy lunches over traditional paella and rice dishes.
